This happened a while back before the COVID-19 police closed our eating facility.
It isn't eavesdropping if the voices just insinuate themselves into your space.
Evening meal and like me, the elderly lady at the table next to mine is alone. Then a friend comes to join her and I don't know which one says, "I see you found your teeth. Where were they?"
I tried to suppress the urge to laugh.
Semi-successful.
